Dental Bonding in Tribeca

Dental bonding in NYC for the chip, gap or uneven edge that bothers you, sculpted by hand and finished in one visit.

Dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin to repair and reshape teeth. Dr. Moezinia layers and sculpts it directly on the tooth, hardens it with a curing light and polishes it to match the enamel around it. There is no lab and usually no drilling or numbing. You walk out the same day with the fix in place.

Bonding is a good fit for small changes: a chipped front tooth, a gap between two teeth, a worn edge or a single dark spot. It is gentler on enamel and costs less than porcelain. It is also less stain-resistant, so it may need polishing or a touch-up over the years.

What to expect

  1. 01

    Shade and plan

Dr. Moezinia checks the tooth, talks through the shape you want and matches the resin shade to your teeth. If you plan to whiten, do it first.

  2. 02

    Gentle preparation

The surface is lightly roughened and conditioned so the resin bonds well. Most bonding needs little or no tooth removal.

  3. 03

    Sculpting

The resin is applied in layers, shaped by hand and hardened with a curing light.

  4. 04

    Polish and check

Dr. Moezinia polishes the tooth to a natural sheen and checks your bite. Most single-tooth bonding is done in one appointment.

Honest advice on the right material

She listens first and will tell you whether bonding, a veneer or simply whitening suits your goal best.

Insurance-friendly where it applies

When bonding repairs a broken tooth, your plan may help. We are in network with Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, MetLife and Anthem PPO plans, and CareCredit is accepted.

Bonding vs. porcelain veneers

Bonding is done in one visit, keeps more of your natural tooth and costs less. It is ideal for small repairs. Porcelain veneers are made by a lab, resist stains better and usually last longer, which makes them a better choice for larger changes or several teeth.

Bonding often lasts several years, commonly 3 to 10, depending on bite and habits. Cost depends on how many teeth are treated and is reviewed with you before we start. Bonding that repairs damage is sometimes covered by insurance, while purely cosmetic bonding usually isn’t.

Questions, answered

How long does dental bonding last?

Bonding commonly lasts several years, often 3 to 10, before it needs a touch-up or replacement. Biting nails or hard objects and heavy coffee or red wine shorten its life. Regular cleanings keep it looking fresh.

Does tooth bonding hurt?

Usually not. Most bonding needs little or no tooth removal, so numbing is often unnecessary. If a chip is deep or near the nerve, we can numb the area.

Can you fix a chipped tooth in one visit?

In most cases, yes. Small to moderate chips can be repaired with bonding in a single appointment. Larger breaks may need a crown or veneer for strength.

Does bonding stain?

Composite resin can pick up stains over time, more than porcelain does. Brushing after coffee or red wine and regular polishing at cleanings help. Bonding doesn’t whiten, so whiten before bonding if you want a lighter shade.
