Porcelain Crowns & Bridges in Tribeca
Porcelain crowns and bridges that bring a cracked, worn or missing tooth back to full strength and blend in with the rest of your smile.
A dental crown is a custom cap that covers a tooth from the gum line up. It protects a tooth that is cracked, heavily filled, worn down or recently treated with a root canal. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by joining a false tooth to crowns on the teeth on either side of the gap.
Dr. Patricia Moezinia approaches every crown as a cosmetic piece as well as a repair. She chooses the material for the job, often porcelain or ceramic for teeth that show, and works with the lab on shade, shape and translucency. The goal is a tooth that bites comfortably and that no one notices. Crown and bridge consults are complimentary.

What to expect
- 01
Complimentary consult and imaging
A 30-minute visit to look at the tooth, take imaging and decide between a crown, an onlay, a bridge or an implant.
- 02
Preparing the tooth
With the area numbed, Dr. Moezinia shapes the tooth and takes a precise impression or digital scan. You leave with a temporary crown.
- 03
Crafting your crown
A dental lab makes your crown or bridge to Dr. Moezinia’s specifications for shade, shape and fit. This usually takes about two weeks.
- 04
Fitting and final adjustments
We remove the temporary, check the fit, color and bite, and bond the final crown in place. Small adjustments are made before you go.

Insurance and financing made simple
We are in network with Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, MetLife and Anthem PPO plans. Crowns are often partly covered, and CareCredit is accepted.
Crown or onlay?
A crown covers the whole visible tooth. It is the stronger choice when a tooth is badly broken, cracked through or has had a root canal.
An onlay covers only the damaged part, often one or more cusps, and leaves the healthy enamel alone. When enough sound tooth remains, an onlay saves more of it. Dr. Moezinia will tell you which one your tooth needs and why.

How long does a porcelain crown last?
With good care, a crown commonly lasts ten to fifteen years and often longer. Grinding, chewing ice and gum disease can shorten that. A night guard and regular cleanings help protect your investment.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The tooth is numbed before we prepare it, so most people feel only pressure. The tooth can be a little sensitive for a few days after each visit. That usually settles on its own.
Should I get a bridge or an implant?
A bridge is quicker and needs no surgery, though it relies on crowning the neighboring teeth. An implant stands on its own and helps preserve the jawbone, and it takes a few months to heal. We walk through both at your consult.
Can you replace an old crown that looks dark at the gum line?
Yes. Older porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns can show a gray line as the gums change. Replacing it with an all-ceramic crown often solves that. We check the tooth underneath at the same time.
Is a crown covered by insurance?
Many PPO plans cover part of a crown when it is needed for the health of the tooth. We are in network with Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, MetLife and Anthem and can check your benefits ahead of time.
